Cathy is the owner of Saputo Counseling Services LLC in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Cathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Sex Therapist, and National Certified Counselor. In her practice, she provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples ages 13 and up. Specialty areas include anxiety, couples and relationships, caregiver stress, depression, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, life transitions, sexual health, and trauma.
Cathy completed a 165-hour certificate program at the University of Michigan in Sexual Health and attends ongoing training to support her clients in this area. She is one of only 45 Certified Sex Therapists in Michigan and the only one active in Macomb County. She believes sexual health is an essential part of whole health and that everyone has a right to a consensual and pleasurable sex life with themselves and their partners.
Prior to opening her own practice, she worked in various counseling settings including an Employee Assistance Program, a large health care system, and clinic settings. She has facilitated groups in the areas of weight management, career transition, professional identity development, life skills, substance abuse prevention, and anger management.
Cathy earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University in 2012. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Complementary Medicine and Wellness. Her undergraduate degree in Telecommunication and Psychology is from Michigan State University and she earned an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Before becoming a Counselor, Cathy held management positions in the telecommunications field where she provided voice, data, and video technology solutions in corporate settings. Her last position was with Viacom/MTV Networks in Santa Monica, CA. She moved from that field into mental health because she wanted to utilize her relationship building and problem-solving skills on a more personal level.
Cathy loves the sunshine, the beach, and golfing with her spouse.

I am so excited to find this group. Reading the level of dedication to honoring of being accepted for yourself authentically is so what I have been looking for. I truly want friendships and support. It warmed my heart to know there is a group of professional women who truly care about each others well being unlike other groups I have seen and was a past of where you are judged by dollar signs and status. Your group sounds so inviting and I am ready to attend a meeting.
Thanks, Jo Erickson
